The Chippewa River District Library welcomes donations of books, music, videos and other media for the library collection and the annual Friends of the Veterans Memorial Library Book Sale.


Potential donations are reviewed by library staff to determine their appropriateness to the collection or if the items are better suited for the annual book sale.


Desired donations include:

  • Books in good condition (paperback or hardcover books)
  • Good quality children's books
  • DVDs
  • Audio Books on CD
  • Music CDs
  • LP and 45 records
  • Non-fiction books less than 10 years old


Items that are not needed include:

  • Pamphlets, magazines, and newspapers
  • VHS tapes
  • Cassette tapes
  • Anything dirty, moldy, smelly or falling apart
  • Textbooks more than 10 years old
  • Encyclopedias and reference books

Chippewa River District Library also welcomes monetary donations to support cataloging, building improvements and other needs of the library.
