FOREIGN AFFAIRS ROUNDTABLE
We are now hosting a free monthly discussion group, The Foreign Affairs Roundtable, on fourth Thursdays from 1:30-3:30pm. Each month, participants discuss an article from the current issue of Foreign Affairs magazine.
Articles are chosen because they provide significant background about a current international relations issue affecting American foreign policy. “The Shoals of Ukraine: Where American Illusions and Great Power Politics Collide” will be the topic of discussion on Thursday, February 27.
The authors are Serhii Plokhy, Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute, Harvard University and M.C. Sarotte, Professor of Historical Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
Jon Beghtol, former history teacher and member of the Academy of Political Science, serves as moderator. To ensure that everyone has time to contribute to the discussion, group size is limited to 10 people. Register for the free February 27 session by visiting the front desk and picking up a copy of the article. For additional information, call 641-472-6551 ext. 2.
