Celebrate Poetry Month together with our new club! This event is free and open to all ages.

Join us in-person at the library or online with Zoom. This month, in honor of William Shakespeare’s birthday, we will be discussing the sonnet -- the poetic form created by Shakespeare and known to us today by the collection of 154 sonnets first published in 1609. We will also read and discuss sonnets written by modern poets such as Edna St. Vincent Millay, Terrance Hayes, and others. You may pick up paper copies of the poems we will read on Friday at the library anytime this month. We also welcome any attendee to bring their own poems to read at our meeting! If interest is high, this will be a continuing monthly program.

This meeting is co-hosted by Youth Services Librarian Alecs Mickunas and FPL staff member Sean Charleston.
