Lonoke County Library System Employment Application

 The following postions will be open until filled: 

     Library Clerk - Part Time at Cabot Public Library - 20 Hours per week:  Completed applications can be dropped off at the Cabot Public Library or submitted to Stacy Barker at sbarker@lonokecountylibrary.org.

     County Director - Full Time at Lonoke County Library System Headquarters located at Lonoke, AR. - 40 Hours per week:  Completed applications, resume, letter of interest, and three refrences can be submitted to Melissa Bulice at mbulice@lonokecountylibrary.org.

As the Lonoke County Library System continues to welcome its patrons both in person and virtually, the Library welcomes applicants from dynamic, innovative, and service-oriented candidates for a new Library Director--one who will continue the Library’s strong trajectory of service to its community.The new Director will have a track record of success and continue to provide exciting, essential library services and programs to its stakeholders.  The selected candidate will model a fierce focus on customer service, an active commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to work as a positive contributor to the quality of life for Lonoke County, Arkansas.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, understanding and embracing the Library’s vision, mission, and strategic plan; knowing the Community’s needs and planning Library services focused on those needs; implementing policies as determined by the Board of Trustees; working with staff as a mentor, coach, and leader; understanding/developing multiple budget streams; establishing and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships with the friends of the Library; working closely with the Cities and County as the official Library representative generating community support for Library activities; serving as a vital library advocate regionally and state-wide; experience in overseeing building projects and successful grant seeking; and multitasking with a smile.

Compensation:  The hiring salary range is $55,000-$65,000 (with placement negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications) and an excellent fringe benefits package.

Qualifications:  Minimum qualifications are a Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or the ability to obtain it within one (1) year of start date, three (3) years of progressively responsible professional library experience.  Two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibilities in a public library are required.  Must be a resident of Lonoke County, Arkansas within one (1) year of start date.
