We are now able to offer Wi-Fi hotspots! Users (ages 18 and older) with a Portland Public Library card that has been active for at least 30 days may borrow a FREE hotspot. The loan period for hotspots is 7 days, and if there is no wait list, they may be renewed for an additional 7-day period. Hotspot holds and check-outs are limited to one per household. LAPSIT – FOR KIDS UNDER 3 (Friday mornings at 10:30 am)

These are programs for infants and toddlers under age 3 and their caregivers (older siblings are allowed to attend/participate when necessary). The program lasts around 30 minutes. It includes books/stories, lots of songs, nursery rhymes, and fingerplays. Our weekly program revolves loosely around a theme.

November 4th - Celebrating Grandparents with rhymes & songs

November 11th - We love our siblings, with stories & fun

November 18th - Thanksgiving books, songs, & stickers 

November 25th - NO LAPSIT


PRESCHOOL STORYTIME (Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am)

For Preschool and School Age, the November theme is “Light up the month with gifts from the sea to be grateful for.”


November 2nd - Lighthouses!  Make one you can use for a nightlight at home.

November 9th - Going Fishing!  Stories, songs, & movement, plus a fishing game/decorate a fish.

November 16th - What do you do with seaweed?  Want to taste some?  Plus, music and movement.

November 23rd - Let’s celebrate Thanksgiving!  Then use pictures to create a meal for yourself.

November 30th - She sells sea shells! Stories, music, movement, plus make a “pet” shell.


SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM (Wednesday Afternoons at 3:30 pm)
  (Kids who are in kindergarten or older)

November 2nd - Lighthouses!  Make one you can use as a nightlight at home. 

November 9th - Guest Reader – Chip Arnold, followed by a game or two.

November 16th - SEAWEED – just in time for Thanksgiving.  Learn about it, taste it, & have some fun.

November 23rd - If you’re not too busy getting ready for tomorrow, join us for favorite Thanksgiving books.

November 30th - She sells sea shells!  Listen to a picture book, and then make a craft with shells.


    FAMILY MOVIE MATINEE: November 19th 10:00-12:00

Join us for a screening of DC League of Super-Pets. A light snack and water will be served.



TEEN PROGRAM EVENTS (for students in middle and high school)

Thursday afternoons from 4-5 pm


November 3rd - Jackbox Games: Teens are encouraged to bring their smartphone to play the game. There will be a few electronic devices available to borrow during the program.

November 10th - Tech Day: Draw 3D sculptures with our 3D doodlers. We also have robots and a Nintendo Switch to use.

November 17th - Awkward Family Photos: ‘Tis the season for family gatherings. Prepare for the upcoming awkwardness with a game of Awkward Family Photos.

November 24th -  No program: Happy Thanksgiving!




Every Tuesday @ 1:00 in the Community Room
Join in the fun of friendly competition as Ms. Vicki calls out the numbers, and the race is on to yell out “BINGO.” There will be candy and snack prizes for the winner. The last game of the day is the “Cover All” where the winner walks away with a gift card that can be used locally.

Saturday, November 5th @ 10:00am in the Bailey Museum
Join Ms. Paula this month to explore the resources available in the Bailey Museum.   


Veteran’s Representative     

Wednesday, November 2nd, from 1:00 to 3:00 in a Study Room
Ms. Rebecca from the Sumner County Veteran’s Service Office will be available to help any veteran or veteran’s spouse with questions or filling out of forms. No appointment necessary. First come, first serve basis.


Page Turners Book Club     

November 17th, 11:30 – 1:30pm in the Community Room
Ms. Patricia leads this group of book readers in a discussion of this month’s chosen book, “For One More Day” by Mitch Albom. Published in 2008, it is a story about a mother and son, and a relationship that spans a lifetime and beyond.


Adult Make and Take Craft Time      

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2:30 – 3:30pm in the Community Room
Sign up to make a craft with us this month. There is a limit of 10 on a first come basis. This month’s craft will feature Ms. Kim making cards.
