Who May Use the Library?

The Union County Public Library District issues a library card without charge to any resident of a household of Union County.  In order to obtain a library card, a patron must show a valid Union County KY Driver’s License or other valid Union County Photo ID. Children of adult library card holders may obtain a juvenile library card if they are between the ages of 5-17 and if parent or legal guardian signs a statement of responsibility on the library card application.  There is a $5.00 charge for replacement cards.

Nonresident

A library card is issued without charge to anyone who owns property or can provide proof of employment in Union County.

Acceptable proofs include

a. Valid Driver’s License and Workplace photo ID or current paystub
b. Valid Driver’s License and Union County Tax Bill


Out of county residents - $25.00 library cards good for one year will be issued to out of county residents.

Visitors

Visitors of library cardholders may be issued a courtesy card, for a period of thirty days with prior approval of Director or Assistant Director.
