Friends of the Library have been supporting the Fluvanna County Public Library since 1989 by raising funds to provide equipment, books and other materials not covered by the library’s budget. Friends also fund the Children’s Summer Reading Program. Money is raised by dues and donations as well as fundraising activities such as: book sales, bake sales, raffles, and selling soft goods like book bags. Friends also sponsor culturally enriching programs such as speakers and field trips.
The annual membership fee is $5.00 per person, $10.00 per family. We also accept and appreciate additional donations. Donations are tax deductible.
Volunteers are always needed to serve on committees and to organize and staff the various fundraising activities. Volunteers are also needed to help the library staff provide services to patrons.
