The Graham County Public Library will have new hours of operation beginning on Wednesday, July 1, 2009. These new hours are as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, the Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Wednesdays, the Graham County Public Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This Library will be closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. These changes are necessary because of this Library's current financial situation.

Please be advised that beginning on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, there will be a small increase in fines and fees for all of our 4 public libraries. Interlibrary loans will now cost $3.00 for each item for postage. Overdue fines will be raised from $.05 to $.10 just on books. The maximum amount of overdue fines charged for 1 book per 1 patron will now be $2.00. These increases are due to our current financial situation.

Moss Memorial Library will have new hours of operation beginning on Wednesday, July 1st. These hours of operation are as follows: Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Moss Memorial Library will be closed on Mondays and on Wednesdays. These changes are necessary because of this Library's current financial situation.

If you are a library cardholder and you'd like to access your account to place holds on items or renew items, you'll be asked for "Patron / Alternate ID Number." What's that? It's your library card number, which can be found on the front of your library card. You'll also be asked for a PIN, which is the last four digits of your phone number. If you have questions, contact your local library.

If you or someone you know, for any reason are unable to get to your library and you would like bookmobile service, please call the Nantahala Regional Library at 837-2025.

Fourth of July Holiday Closings

All four of the public libraries in our Region will be closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Please click on the "Calendar" tab at the top of this screen to find out the days that each Library will be closed.

Scholastic Book Fairs

The Murphy Public Library and the Andrews Public Library will both have Scholastic Book Fairs this summer. Murphy Public Library's Book Fair begins on Monday, June 22, 2009 and ends on Saturday, June 27, 2009. Andrews Public Library's Book Fair begins also on Monday, June 22nd. It ends on Thursday, July 2, 2009.

Adopt-A-Book Program

Help the Andrews Public Library expand its collection by donating a book in honor of a loved one. Choose a title from the staff's wish list or suggest your own. If you have any questions, you may contact the Library at 321-5956.
