April 2023 Northwood Public Library News
April showers let you read for hours! So come on in and check out the library!
I’d like to give a huge shoutout to some of our Northwood Area businesses who have already given their donation to the library’s Summer Reading Program. We have had donations from Agri-Sales, Dewey Kruger Music Center, Fallgatter’s, FSB, Brian and Connie Kenison, NSB, Shade Tree Liquors, Worth Brewing Co, Worth Mutual and Olson Insurance. Thank you for caring about Northwood’s kids and the Northwood Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. We still have time if you’d like to help fund our Summer Reading Program, you can email me at emily@northwood.lib.ia.us, call us at 324-1340, or of course, just stop in and see us!
This month’s Friday morning story times will be April 14th, 21st and 28th, starting at 10am. These are geared for toddler and preschool age, but babies are welcome too! It’s a fun time for kids to socialize together, learn about sitting quietly for a short story or two, have some fun coloring and playing with the library toys. Parents and caregivers can enjoy some chit chat too! Please pay attention to the library’s facebook page for more information.
One thing to put on your calendar is that Heaven Walker from Worth County Conservation is going to come do an Earth Day program here at the library. More details to come, but mark Thursday April 20th from 5:00-6:00 as “Earth Day at the Library!”
The library has two different book clubs that participate in a monthly reading and discussion. If this is anything that sounds interesting to you, don’t hesitate to reach out at the library!
New at the library this month:
Adult Fiction books: “Dark Angel” by John Sanford, “The Last Heir to Blackwood Library” by Hester Fox, “Lone Women” by Victor Lavalle, “Collateral Damage” by J.A. Jance, “My Heart Will Find You” by Jude Deveraux, “On the Line” by Fern Michaels, “The Only Survivors” by Megan Miranda, “Simply Lies” by David Baldacci, and lots more.

I’ve been posting some pictures of the new books to the Northwood Public Library’s Facebook page, so don’t forget to “Like” the page to be notified when we put more new books out throughout the month. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you might have via e-mail emily@northwood.lib.ia.us or call us at 324-1340. We hope you will check us out soon!
