August 2024 Northwood Public Library News

Happy August! Just a few more weeks until school starts!
We’d like to give a big thank you to everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Program in any way. Thanks to those who gave monetary or prize donations, thanks to the performers and special guests who came for events and story time, thanks to the parents and grandparents who help their kids succeed, and last but not least: the kids! We had almost 60 kids sign up for the Summer Reading Program!

We are taking a few weeks off of Story Time, but I have one planned for Friday August 16th and Friday August 30th. Our Story Time will start at 10:00, please watch the library’s Facebook page for more information.

The library has two different book clubs that participate in a monthly reading and discussion. If this is anything that sounds interesting to you, don’t hesitate to reach out at the library for more information!

Coming to the library during the month of August:
Adult Fiction books: “By Any Other Name” by Jodi Picoult, “Counting Miracles” by Nicholas Sparks, “The Perfect Son” by Freida McFadden, “The Rose Arbor” by Rhys Bowen, “Spirit Crossing” by William Kent Krueger, “Hard to Kill” by James Patterson, “Agony Hill” by Sarah Stewart Taylor, and lots more.
Large Print Fiction: “The Days I Loved You Most” by Amy Neff, “Joy” by Danielle Steel, “What We Hide” by Colleen Coble, “Miranda and the Miner” by Melody Carlson, “Pitch Dark” by Paul Doiron and more.

I’ve been posting some pictures of the new books to the Northwood Public Library’s Facebook page, so don’t forget to “Like” the page to be notified when we put more new books out throughout the month.
