How can I get eBooks and Audiobooks on my device?

  • Have your library card and pin number ready.
  • Download the OverDrive or Libby app on your device. For the first time, you can choose to create an OverDrive account using an email or you can use your library card to sign up. (Note: once you set up your account using a library card, continue to use your library card to log in. Setting up another account later by creating an OverDrive account using your email may lock you out of your account, and you will receive an error message telling you an account with that email already exists.)
  • Follow the onscreen prompts to search for Fleming County Public Library and Kentucky Libraries Unbound to set up your account.
  • Check the box "remember me on this device" when you're logging in for the first time. (note: it will take 2 log ins to complete the set up process.)
  • If you have trouble or need assistance, please call us at 606-845-7851 and ask for Paula McGraw, or bring your device to the library for assistance during open hours.

Beginning January 1st, 2020, staff will require that you present your library card or ID to check out materials. (Although many of you are long time library users, please understand that not all staff know you.)

During the month of January 2020, we will offer you a FREE new or replacement card. Thereafter, the cost of a new card continues to be free, but a replacement card is $1.00.

All items will be checked out on your card/account.  We will not allow checkout on other patron’s cards.

This ensures that your library account is secure.

Once a year we update cards, so a new address or phone number may need to be changed, which assists us in calling for held items or in sending overdues in a timely manner.

Fleming County Giving Tree 2021

We have built a large tree in our Children’s Area in the library!

But it is up to US to fill it full of leaves.

Pick up a few leaves at the circulation desk in the library (or make your own at home), write the good deed you did and return it to the library. We will attach the leaves to the tree and our hope is to fill it full by the end of the year.

No names on the leaves please.

Ideas:
Pick up litter
Mow a neighbor’s lawn
Smile at a stranger (you may make their day!)
Put your shopping cart back
Help someone with their bags
Bring coffee to a friend
Purchase an ice cream cone for the cars behind you in the drive through line
Offer your seat to someone
Lend a hand
Encourage someone
Leave a note
The possibilities are endless!

Ages birth to 5 years old

For kids ages birth to kindergarten we are joining the nationwide challenge to complete 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Families may register at the library, and will then receive a form to track the books that are read. All books will count, and books may be read more than once. Children will receive rewards and incentives along the way as we track their reading on a special bulletin board at the library. Any age between birth and 5 may start this challenge.
