I’m a realist landscape painter working with oil on canvas.    I studied art at the University of Utah,  completing most of the BFA program before parenthood (and a new job for my husband in Escalante) redirected my artistic efforts.  I wound up far from art school, but surrounded by beautiful landscapes.  With our daughter (now a teenager!), my husband and I have explored much of southern Utah and the Four Corners.  Out in the field and back in my studio, I’ve tried to capture what I find most engaging in the landscape around me.

My work has been recognized in a variety of ways.   I have won awards at the St. George Art Festival, the River Runner’s Art Show in Green River (1st place, 2008) and several awards for plein air (outdoor)  painting at the Escalante Canyons Art Festival.  In 2016,  I was honored with a Best in Show award at the Cedar Breaks Arts Afire Plein Air, and a 1st Place in the Escalante Canyons Art Festival's Public Lands Paint Out.  WoooHoo!  Those were pretty exciting.     I have been jury-selected to participate in the annual Sears Dixie Invitational, the St. George Art Festival, the Provo Freedom Festival art exhibit, the Outdoor Painters’ Society’s Plein Air Southwest 2009, and the Southern Utah Art Invitational.  I have been the featured artist at the Cedar City Art Festival and the Escalante Canyons Art Festival, and was an Artist in Residence in the San Juan Public Lands Center’s Aspen Guard Station program (September, 2006), and at Mesa Verde National Park (May, 2008).  My work has been purchased by the St. George Art Museum and by Dixie State University.   I also received the "Professional Artist Award" at The Business of Art (hosted by Dixie State University) in 2012, which was a terrific honor.

Having said all that, welcome to my web site!  I hope you enjoy seeing my artwork as much as I have enjoyed painting it.
