How to get a library Card

The Saint Joseph Public Library will issue a library card to anyone who:

Lives in the City of St. Joseph
Lives in the Township of St. Joseph
Owns and pays property tax on property in the City or Township of St. Joseph
Owns a boat slip within the City or Township of St. Joseph

Each user must apply for his or her own library card.

A parent or guardian must sign the registration card (accepting responsibility for loss or damage of materials) of a minor younger than age 16.

A library card is good for three years and may be renewed indefinitely.

To register, bring identification and proof of residence.

Acceptable forms of Identification are:
Michigan Driver's License with current address or additional proof of residence
Michigan ID Card with current address or additional proof of residence
Social Security Card with proof of residence
Property Tax receipt

Acceptable forms of Proof of Residence are:
utility or cable bill with name and address
lease agreements
printed checks
voter's registration card
