Applying for a Library Card
All Tennessee residents are eligible for a library card at no cost. To apply, you may complete the electronic application at home using this link or at the library. Then, simply present proof of your identity and current address at the front desk to receive your physical card. The parent/legal guardian and the juvenile must both be present to receive their physical library card after completing the electronic application.

Parents are responsible for anything their child checks out, fines, damages, and lost items and as such are expected to monitor their children's activities.


Individuals that live outside the state may obtain a library card at an annual cost of $10.00 for adults 17+ and $5.00 for children. The parent/legal guardian and the juvenile must both be present and a valid ID must be presented to receive card after completing the electronic application.

 
Lending Library

The White House Public Library functions as a free lending library of these materials:

  • Books and audio books
  • Large print books
  • Movies
  • Music CDs
  • Plush sets
  • Kindles, Samsung Tablets, Chromebooks and Hotspots
  • Board games, puzzles, video games and STEAM packs

Most items can be renewed at anytime on our website or by phone at 615-672-0239 during regular library hours. If an Item is on hold it cannot be renewed. An item cannot be renewed online if it is overdue. To renew online click on the link below, then click Log In on the upper right hand corner. The number on the back of your library card is your username, the last four digits of your primary phone number is the password.

Book Drop and Late Fees

For your convenience, a book drop is available at the side entrance of the Library for books,videos,and audio book returns. However all other items must be brought to the circulation desk. If you accrue more than $10.00 in late fees, your card will be blocked.
