Colgan (Close Knit, 2024) delivers the cozy in her latest Christmas novel. Mirren, the antiquarian book hunter introduced in the Amazon Original The Christmas Book Hunt (2024), is hired by the young and attractive Jamie McKinnon to search for a valuable book in his crumbling Scottish castle. Jamie believes that the book is so rare that its value could help save the estate. On her way to meet him, Mirren runs into posh Theo Palliser, who is also an antique book hunter, and is after the same book. Mirren and Theo arrive at the castle, but not long after, a terrible snowstorm traps her, Jamie, Theo, Jamie's sister Esme, and the housekeeper Bonnie in the castle with no power. Jamie's hoarder grandfather was the last owner of the book (and the castle) and his love of puzzles leads the crew on a treasure hunt to find the book and survive the collapsing castle. Cozy mystery readers and those who want gentle crime (without the murder) and a hint of romance will enjoy Colgan's latest.
