Books may be renewed by telephone or online up to 2 times unless another patron has placed a hold on the item. Video and popular items may not be renewed.
Due to the size of the libraries' collections, checkout limits per card are enforced as follows:
ADULT CARDS
12 Items
CHILDREN CARDS
10 Items
VIDEOS
5 per card
AUDIOS
3 per card
No more than 4 items in any given subject area may be checked out at one time. No more than 3 popular items may be checked out at once. Newly added patrons will be limited to two items.
Materials may be placed on hold. Patrons will be contacted when the material is available. Patrons may also request materials not owned by the library through Interlibrary Loan. Requested print and video materials and Interlibrary Loan items must be picked up within 7 days of notification. Requested popular materials must be picked up within 3 days of notification. Items will be returned to their owning library after this time.
Some materials, such as reference books, magazines, and rare items, cannot be circulated but can be used within the library.
Materials must be returned to the public library from which they were borrowed. "Book Returns" are provided outside each library in order for patrons to return library books when the library is not open. Non-print materials may not be placed in the Book Return, except Jasper which has a Media section in their Return.
Patrons are responsible for ensuring that all borrowed materials are returned on time and in good condition. Each patron may only use his/her library card to borrow library materials. If materials are lost or damaged, the patron on whose card the material was borrowed must pay for them. The patron will be charged replacement cost plus a processing fee. The charge for out-of-print materials will be $35.00 or the original price of the material, if higher.
