Summer Reading 2022

Join us in welcoming summer by signing up for our Summer Reading Program!

This year the Brunswick County Library's program will run from June 1 to July 30, and the Richardson Memorial Library's will run from July 1 to August 31. 

Kids ages 0 to 17: Sign up at your closest branch and pick up a bag that includes an events calendar, a reading log, a bookmark, and more! Keep track of the books you read on your reading log. When you complete the reading goal for your age group, you will receive a certificate and a free book! Readers who read the most books in their age group will win the Top Reader Grand Prize.

Reading Goals by Age Group:
Preschool, ages 0-4: Read 20 books
Elementary, ages 5-9: Read 20 books
Middle, ages 10-14: Read 10 books
High, ages 15-17: Read 5 books

 

Adults ages 18 and up: Sign up for Book Bingo at your closest branch and receive a reusable bag, a pen, and a bookmark along with your Book Bingo Card. Complete BINGO in any direction, then return the card to the Library to be entered into a drawing to win a gift card.

Signup at BCL begins June 1st, with reading logs and book bingo due by July 30th. Sign up at RML begins July 1st, with reading logs and book bingo due by August 31st. 

This year's main events include Mad Science, Krendl the Magician, a demonstration by 4-H, and Uncle Henry's live animal show. Monday Movies will be held in June at BCL and August at RML.
