Tweens

Tweens

The Library has an active Tween program specifically designed for children in 4th – 6th grades.   We have a tween librarian to work with them, a tween collection and reading lists to feed their hungry and inquisitive minds, a tween space for them to do their homework and hangout with their friends, and also a variety of tween programs to give them opportunities to stretch their wings.   Monthly programs have included a Winter Luau, Marshmallow Madness and a Non Lovey-Dovey Valentine’s Day party. Programs sometimes have a craft component (make your own catapult!) or cooking with Miss Lisa from Martin’s Cooking School. At each program, the tweens also get first pick at all the new books purchased for the Tween section. The library has a separate Summer Reading Program  just for this age group. Check out our Facebook page or website for the next Tween program or call the Children’s Desk at 983-7167.
